This is Bob. Bob is a small, blue parakeet given to me over 3 years ago when Bob was already 3 or 4 years old. Bob came with a friend, a green parakeet - Not-Bob. Not-Bob died about 18 months ago of undetermined causes. About 6 months ago I came home from work and found eggs in Bob's cage. White eggs, about the size of large M&M with p-nuts. Rather large for a parakeet Bob's size, and well, I thought Bob was a boy - but, he was the only bird in that cage so -............ For several months Bob would just 'lay' the eggs from the top branch of the cage - and they would tumble down, and I would clean them up. Then, I decided it would be cool for Bob to have a more comfy place to nest, so I put a wooden bowl with shredded paper in the cage. The first month Bob ignored it. This month - Bob won't leave it. Bob has laid 7 eggs this month and has been sitting on them for weeks- it looks like he may be eating a little- but, not nearly as much as before. So, today I am staging an intervention. I will go in (I put my hand in the cage the other day and Bob attacked me - never the friendliest parakeet- this was pretty aggressive. Altho, after Not-Bob died we attempted to hook Bob up with new friends - but Bob terrorized them and they ended up shivering with fear and hunger on the bottom of the cage- until I took them back to the store - rather chagrined at the antics of my killer parakeet.) Today I will clean the cage and empty the bowl and try and get Bob out of it and eating and drinking again. I am considering trying to find Bob a boyfriend bird- so maybe Bob can finally have those baby parakeets s/he has been working for - a green one maybe. I'll call him Sue.

Amazingly powerful desire for babies! Good luck on getting a boy that Bob won't chew. She sounds picky. And that's ok.
LOL!!!
