Home?

Well, I'm back. I'd say "I'm home".....but........ if home is where your heart is......I'd still be in Colorado, or on my way to Valencia.

Gone Fishin'

I work today, but, tomorrow morning I am up and outta' here to see my Sweet Baby Girl and her family in Colorado! My buddy Ruth is going to be here all bright and shiny at 7:00 am (well, she's going to be here)to take me to the airport and my mutt has been lined up for a dog sitter willing to come here and keep Toby out of the kennel. Work is all caught up, birthday gifts have been shipped and arrived on time, I got my glasses and cell phone repaired, all my outdoor plants soaked and I'll get my laundry done tonight. Ready to go! See you all when I get back!

Mmmmmm…My son didn’t seem to think the milk thing was the quirkiest thing about me. (I’ll be seeing my daughter and her family next Saturday, and I’m sure they will have additions to the list also.) I mentioned ever since seeing ‘Poltergeist” I cannot sleep with and arm and a leg over the side of my bed. My daughter-in-law told me she can’t either. We share a quirk. Other than my son that is.

I got tagged!

I got tagged by the very woman I set this blog up for- so I could write obnoxious remarks on HER blog.
Pay back ? I’m supposed to write 6 quirky things about myself- link it to the universe and recite the Kama Sutra in Latin, backwards. (Well, that’s what her instructions sounded like to me.) I think I’ll just list the 6 quirky things and let her know I did it. I do of course have to limit myself to 6 - so here goes: in no particular order:
3. I made an earlier post about my new car. I said it was ugly- my son said it was quirky - like me. I know, that’s cheating because I’ve used it before, but it’s my blog so deal with it.
5. I collect words that appeal to me on various levels. Some of my all time favorites: serendipity, crustacean and savanna (I have had for the past 11 years a better reason and better spelling to enjoy that last word). Kumquat and doiley appealed to me so much I wrote a children’s story for my kids- with a hero of that name, Kumquat Doiley. It helps to picture him in a gray Victorian cut morning suit with a rather natty looking ascot.
1. If I don’t finish my glass of milk, I will put the glass in the refrigerator for later. I dislike pouring myself half a glass. I believe I work hard enough to treat myself to a full glass of milk when I want one.
4. I hate wasting milk.
6. I know bits and pieces of about 4, 692 songs from different generations. My grand children love this about me- until they reach the age of 4 or so then apparently it gets annoying.

2 weeks!

Just 2 weeks until I see My Sweet Baby Girl and fam in Colorado! I've been busy trying to locate a mutt-sitter and wondering why it is going to cost me more to get to the airport that is 12 miles from home, than it is to drive 60 miles to LAX and park at the FlyAway. I guess I should have figured that out before I bought the ticket eh?

Sometimes........

Sometimes, God calms the storm.

Sometimes, He lets the storm rage, and calms his child.
